Re: Demand for Payment
Dear John Smith,
I am writing to formally demand payment of $3,500 for damages arising from an incident on 2025-12-15.
On December 15, 2025, the defendant, John Smith, caused significant damage to my vehicle while it was parked in front of my home at 123 Main Street. The defendant's vehicle rolled down the hill and collided with mine, causing damage to the rear bumper, trunk, and left tail light assembly. I obtained three repair estimates averaging $3,500. The defendant admitted fault at the scene and provided their insurance information, but their insurer has since denied the claim citing a lapse in coverage. Despite multiple requests for payment, the defendant has refused to compensate me for the damages.
Please respond within 10 business days from the date of this letter. If I do not receive payment or a satisfactory response, I will file a claim in Los Angeles Small Claims Court without further notice.
Sincerely,
Sarah Johnson
